Christmas 2012

Well, we re all still here and its another year practically gone. 2012 was one of the ok years; Ive had worse...The highlights: my son turned 3, Saint Flesh was published, albeit quietly (you all forgot about SF didn't ya?? Don't feel bad, so did I), and Forvian Sphere got contracted.
The Bad points: thankfully nothing happened bad enough to make the list.

2013, like every new year, is another fresh start. I have big things planned for the next dozen months though I despise the number 13. (lame, I know, but hey, what can ya do?) My resolution? To keep doing what I do until I get it done. Thats the only resolution Ive ever been able to keep.

I mentioned in the last post that I was working on something called Legends...well, I put that aside (again) to work on yet another project: Filibuster. Its a stand alone sci-fi and its gonna be awesome. Now I just cant wait for the holidays to be over so I can do some killer writing.

And with that, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. See you on the other side.

Doomsday Eve

Just wanted to take a second to wish everybody a happy Doomsday Eve. I wasn't gonna take part in the quackery until I realized that this was probably the last Doomsday of our lives, so I figured Id mark the occasion to be a part of the historical record. The next Doomsday isn't scheduled until like 3797 or something and try as I might, I dont think Im gonna make it that long to see it.
So heres to our/my last ever Doomsday!! Cheers!!! BOOYA!! Blah!

Now, logically I know the world isn't gonna end today or tomorrow, or even within the next ten, twenty years. There isn't a space object big enough or close enough to cause us any problems any time soon; any solar flare dangerous enough to bring society down tomorrow would have to have left the sun yesterday; no disease, no matter how new, potent, or contagious, would ever have enough time to kill a billion people (never mind 7 billion people ) in a day or even a week; the third anti-Christ  hasn't shown yet; no terrorist organization, no matter how big or sophisticated, has a weapon deadly enough; and even if every natural disaster on the planet hit us all at once, there would still be enough of the population left to maintain society.

So, sorry to all you hopeful cultists out there, but unless a mothership comes out of nowhere to suck you up or a rogue star made of dark matter suddenly appears (shhh), you're gonna wake up Dec 22nd just like you've done every other day...unless you've committed suicide already. Eh.

But in case I'm wrong and the world does end, I would like to confess that I---(end tape)

Just finished and sent off Super Secret Big Project, which I have codenamed MOD so I don't have to keep calling it by other sillier names until the contracts are signed. It was hard to let this one go since, as those who've been following the blog already know, Ive been working on its various stages for 8 years now; and if you want to get technical, the story has been with me for about 25 years, so sending it off to be picked apart and handled by other people was a hard pill to swallow.
On the other hand, this baby of mine has been trained well and is well prepared for the world so it should make a good showing of itself. No worries. (gulp)

Now its on to the next project. As usual, between projects, I had a host of options to choose from. Up until last night I was planning on writing a comical satire of a science fiction novel, but I woke up this morning feeling different, so Ill be working on another stand alone project codenamed Legends. Its still in the preliminary stages of development but I should be able to start the first draft this month and take it from there.

I still have Dimensions (don't think I forgot about that) on the back burner and The Nonari Series to work on, but Dimensions needs to simmer and I'm way ahead on The Nonari so I'm in no rush.

And of course there's the Golden Griffin series...sigh...that series will be finished and published one way or the other, but, unfortunately, the series is in indefinite Limbo due to circumstances out of my control.

And that completes this update; The Forvian Sphere should be out next month to kick off an action-packed year full of contests and promotions and all kinds of fun stuff.

And now, back to work...
